Mountain High

Last night I went to Mountain High to try my hand at snowboarding for the first time…how hard can it be right? Turns out it was quite hard. It was one of the most difficult sports I have tried to conquer yet, lol. The funniest part about it was that I found getting on and off the lifts was the worst part, haha. Those things just keep going…whether your sitting down or not! lol I got up a couple times…then fell…then repeated. My butt hurt so bad because I had landed on it so much! Cant wait until nextime…well not until I am completely healed, lol.

San Francisco 2006

This weekend Mariah and I flew to San Francisco to visit my brother Chris. Our flight left Friday evening and he picked us up from Oakland Airport when we arrived. We had the choice of either sleeping on the Futon in the living room or outside in the R.V. We thought it would be kinda cool to camp out in the R.V., so thats where we ended up sleeping. Next morning, we wake up and we have breakfast and go into the city to be tourists. We took a tour of Alcatraz….which was freaking awesome! After that, we went to Fisherman’s Wharf and this cool place that had really old arcade games from the turn of the century. We left there to drive down Lumbard Street (I think thats how you spell it) which is the worlds most crooked road…they arn’t kidding! It was kinda scary! So by this time we were realllyyyy hungry and we ate at this place in the Castro Distict called Pluto’s. We drove over the Golden Gate bridge, then called it a night. So we finally get home and go to bed…well at like 2am Mariah gets a phone call from one of her friends (Gosh she is such a pimp! lol) It rang so loud and woke me out of a deep sleep! I woke up so fast that my whole body hurt…I was like OOWWW!!!

haha So anyways, she gets off the freakin phone and we fall back alseep. Its like around 9am and I am definatly not ready to wake up….I hear a truck outside but i figure its just a trash truck or something because it sounded like a big truck. All of a sudden I see Mariah get up really fast and look out the window she says “OH HECK NO! JEN WAKE UP THERE’S A TOW TRUCK OUTSIDE AND THEY’RE GONNA TOW US AWAY!!!” I was like “SHUT UP, YOUR LYING!” She’s like, “NO I PROMISE LOOK OUTSIDE! HE’S COMING! JEN TELL HIM NOT TO TOW US AWAY!!” haha…So I am like half asleep still….in my PJ’s…hair lookin’ all crazy…I open the door and scare the guy half to death cuz some crazy girl just popped out of an R.V. haha. I tell him whats going on…he says we cant park there…yadda yadda ydaa blah blah blah…I have to go get my brother to move it cuz I would probably crash it, lol.

So yeah, we almost got towed away! That would have sucked!! lol ohh man, good times! So our flight left late Sunday night and we got home safely shortly thereafter. Lessons learned on this trip:

1. Turn off Mariah’s phone at night (to avoid heart attacks of course)

2. Dont sleep in R.V.’s when they are parked illegally (or you may wake up in another part of town, lol)

Karaoke Weekend

Wow, this weekend was freakin’ awesome.

I spent the weekend at my cousin’s and Saturday I was their designated driver for their dinner/bar outing with the gang. After 9 bottles of Saki at Hana Hairu (Sushi Bar) we headed off to the Karaoke bar at Acapolco in Diamond Bar. Somehow I was involved in several conga lines and my own rendition of “Love Shack”…sadly, I was not drinking…so I cant blame alcohol, lol.

We left there around midnight and everyone was complaining they were so hungry so I stopped at a 24 hour drive-thru Carls Jr. I was not about to order for 6 drunkin’ adults so I made my cousin Scott order (who was pretty drunk). He made sure to order everyones food by name…so it went a little like this “okay, can I get a #2…no mayo..criss-cut fries…diet coke….for Ralph…yes, Right On!” this went on for the other 5 people. I felt so bad for the people behind us in line! It took forever to get our food. So after about 20 minutes in the drive-thru line, we hit the road again. Somewhere between the 57 and 71 freeways, Ralph shot Michelle in the head with a plastic torpedo object, and then shot one at a passed out Ron in the back seat… who simply replied with a “what the hell?”lol

We got to my cousin Scotts house to drop off him and his wife and pick up my cousin Laura who was babysitting their kids. By this time half the car was passed out and we ended up just taking the remaining passangers home to crash at Stacies house. We get to Stacie and Ralph’s in fontana, and help Stacie and Ron get out of the car. I get out and look in the backseat and I see fries and onion rings flung aboiut the car….it was a mess. I saw an onion ring still in the box and it looked pretty darn good, so I took it out and i ate it. Ralph claims I ate it straight of the car floor….but I beg to differ. Anyway, after a few minutes of drunkin’ ranting from Ralph and Ron, everyone was upstairs and fast asleep.

And so was I….because by then it was 2am. I am the best D.D. ever. Take notes kiddies!! lol

A New Begining

I’ve realized since I spend the better part of the day at work with nothing to do besides go on MySpace, I should do something a little more intellectually stimulating like, writing. I guess maybe actually working or picking up a book would be better, but lets just take baby steps

Most of you who know me, know I have gone through some changes in the past month, forcing me to move along and start another chapter in my life. I know God never gives us more than we can handle, and at times I really thought it was more than I could bare. If it were’nt for my friends and family helping me get through it, I don’t know where’d I’d be. For that, I am truly grateful. I am taking the opportunity now to actually find out a little bit more about myself. In the past I have been way too “people-pleasing” and giving, which doesn’t sound like a bad thing at first, but it caused me to be sort of a doormat for some people. I need to take a step back and realize what it is I am looking for and I’ll definitely need God’s guidance in doing so. It sounds kind of cliche, but I am so grateful for the time Chris and I had together. I learned so much about relationships (both good and bad) and what it felt to actually Love someone in that way. Even though things didn’t work out between us, I hope he finds what he is looking for in life.
